The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, along with the Office of the Governor and Texas Workforce Solutions, proudly announce the 2013 State of Texas Small Business Award winners: Action Printing, Benchmark Business Solutions, Scarborough Specialties and V-tech Environmental Services. Being honored for their exemplary business practices, the recipients received their awards, which were presented by American National Bank, at the State of Texas Small Business Awards Luncheon hosted by the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA). The award luncheon was held in conjunction with the Governor’s Small Business Forum on Tues., Oct. 22, 2013.
The Governor's Small Business Forums, sponsored by the Texas Governor’s Office, the Texas Workforce Commission, and local partners, are designed to give entrepreneurs and small businesses valuable tools, skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s fast-paced economy. Featuring a wide range of instructive seminars and expert speakers offering vital information on both public and private resources, the forums offer a great opportunity to network and connect with industry specialists, government officials, service providers and other regional businesses. Texan businesses are afforded a chance to network and trade with one another, exchange best practices, and discuss challenges and innovative ways of overcoming them.
Dr. Ray Perryman, a renowned economist, was the featured speaker at the luncheon, followed by the presentation of the State of Texas Small Business Awards. Perryman is the founder and president of The Perryman Group (TPG), an economic and financial analysis first headquartered in Waco, Texas. Perryman is an active participant in the state, national and world economic scenes and has been honored by the Texas Legislature for his “tireless efforts in helping to build a better Texas”.
